The Jnanpith Award is an Indian literary award presented annually by the Bharatiya Jnanpith to an author for their "outstanding contribution towards literature". It carries a cash price of 
Rs 11 lakhs, a citation plank and a bronze replica of goddess Saraswati. at first Jnanpith Award were given for a single work of Author, but after 
1982 this Award is being given for the lifetime contribution of the writer to the Indian literature.
